NNWA publishes the name and qualifications of everyone who writes and checks its material. You can see the full teaching team on the faculty page.

Every IGMPI fact here was read on 1 November 2026 on the institute's own site, mostly in the prospectus of its Centre for Nutrition and Dietetics Studies, and is written as what those pages state. Nothing comes from reviews, forums or listing sites, and this page says nothing about how either provider teaches in practice. The wider test sits in the guide to choosing an online nutrition academy, and a broader dated table is in the comparison of IGMPI with nine other providers.
Which IGMPI course lines up with which NNWA course?
It depends on what you already hold, because both providers sort courses by entry level. With Class 12 alone, the comparison is NNWA's Diploma against IGMPI's Under Graduate Diploma. With a degree, it is NNWA's Post Graduation Diploma against IGMPI's Post Graduate Diploma, or its shorter Executive Diploma. Comparing across those lines is the easiest way to misread a fee, so find your row before you look at any figure.
| What you are checking | NNWA | IGMPI |
|---|---|---|
| After Class 12 | Diploma in Nutrition, Dietetics and Public Health, 6 months | Under Graduate Diploma, such as the Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics, 12 to 24 months |
| After a degree | Post Graduation Diploma, 1 year | Post Graduate Diploma, 12 to 24 months, or Executive Diploma, 6 to 12 months |
| Who awards it | Made with Medhavi Skills University, Sikkim, the Diploma at NCrF and NSQF Level 4 | The Centre for Nutrition and Dietetics Studies, IGMPI |
| Mode | Live online classes; its pages describe the Diploma's current batch as Saturday and Sunday mornings | Part-time online live classes on weekends, or a regular mode |
| Language | English and Hindi | English |
| Material | Class recordings with lifetime access | Hard-copy study material for all modules |
| Assessment | Assignments marked by mentors | Assignments usually after every module, and an online exam at the end |
| After the course | A job portal and career guidance for Diploma learners, no placement guaranteed | Placement assistance after completion, as the prospectus describes it |
| Fee | Printed live on the course cards in this article | Printed in the prospectus: see the fee section below |
Length is the row most readers skip. At Class 12 level, IGMPI's prospectus gives a minimum of 12 months against NNWA's 6. That is not a verdict on either: a longer course can mean a gentler week, and a shorter one an earlier finish. If that trade-off is your real question, six months against one year works through it. IGMPI's 24-month ceiling also gives you room if a year goes badly.
What does each provider actually award?
NNWA's flagship programmes are awarded with a university, while IGMPI's prospectus says its diploma is awarded by its own centre. After assignments and a final online exam, IGMPI's page says participants receive the diploma from the Centre for Nutrition and Dietetics Studies, IGMPI. The prospectus names no university as the awarder and states no NSQF or NCrF level for the course. That is a description of the document, not a criticism: an institute's own diploma can serve you well if an employer or client asks only for evidence of study.
The same prospectus describes IGMPI itself as an autonomous institute recognised by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and an accredited vocational institution of the Ministry of Education, and says it is approved by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India and licensed and certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards. It also says it is approved by sector skill councils. Those statements are about the institute. Ask IGMPI which of them attaches to the certificate for the course you want, and confirm the answer with that body.
The same limit applies to NNWA. Medhavi Skills University is recognised under section 2(f) of the UGC Act and is an NCVET-approved awarding body, and its award covers four programmes: the Certification, the Diploma, the Post Graduation Diploma and the Advanced Diploma in Personal Training with Sports Nutrition. About seventy short courses and the Diploma in Health and Wellness Coaching carry NNWA's own certificate alone. NNWA's page of independent checks shows how to test the partnership on the university's own site.
What does IGMPI charge, and what can reduce the figure?
IGMPI prints its fees. The table in its nutrition prospectuses, read on 1 November 2026, lists the Under Graduate Diploma at Rs 79,830 and the Post Graduate Diploma at Rs 88,700, both for 12 months of part-time online live classes, and the 6-month Executive Diploma at Rs 68,500 in the same mode. In regular mode, the Under Graduate and Post Graduate Diplomas are both listed at Rs 1,10,000. Its Certified Nutrition Counsellor programme, for graduates, is listed at Rs 48,000 for 6 months online. The table does not say whether tax is included, so ask. This site's September table recorded different figures, a reminder to trust the prospectus on the day you pay.
The prospectus also states concessions for those who enrol in its PG Diploma programmes: 10 per cent for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and candidates with a disability, and 5 per cent for Other Backward Classes, Economically Weaker Section candidates and ex-servicemen. It adds need-based waivers of up to 30 per cent for PG Diploma students with excellent academic records who need support. If you might qualify, ask for the terms in writing before you compare totals, because a concession can change the order of two figures.
NNWA's fee is printed live on the course cards in this article and on each course page, so set the two figures side by side yourself, and see NNWA's scholarship and cost page for its own forms of help. Then divide each total by the live hours the provider confirms, as comparing fees by cost per hour sets out. A lower sticker price with fewer live hours may cost you more per class, and the reverse is just as possible.
Weekend classes, language and what arrives in the post
Language sorts many readers at once. IGMPI's prospectus says all learning and training delivery is conducted in English, and that part-time online live classes run on weekends, with a doubt-clearing session before the examination. It also promises study material for all modules in hard copy. If you read and follow English comfortably and like a printed book beside you, that description may be exactly what you are looking for.
NNWA teaches live online in English and Hindi, with recordings kept for life and work marked by mentors. Its pages describe the Diploma's current batch as meeting on Saturday and Sunday mornings, so weekends will not separate these two. Language might: a reader who thinks in Hindi should weigh it heavily. Both are built on fixed class times, and a plan for the classes you will miss is worth making before you pay either provider. NNWA has no classroom mode at all, which matters if you want one.
Two syllabi with different centres of gravity
IGMPI's Post Graduate and Executive Diploma prospectus lists 19 modules. They run from anatomy and nutrients through diet planning across the lifespan to nutraceuticals, food microbiology, nutritional biochemistry, research statistics, bariatric nutrition, food allergies and a capstone project, with a module of laboratory demonstration and instrument handling. A separate module covers public health and community nutrition. The prospectus also speaks of hands-on practice in industry, hospitals and clinics; ask how that is arranged for someone studying online.
NNWA's Diploma has public health in its title, and its teaching is built around Indian food patterns, regional staples and the ICMR-NIN Dietary Guidelines for Indians. It publishes its module structure before enrolment. It has no food laboratory, because it is fully online. If you want nutraceuticals and supplements as a stated module, IGMPI's list names them directly. Read both lists against the work you plan to do, using the syllabus comparison method, rather than counting modules.
Does either diploma let you plan diets for patients?
No, not on the strength of the certificate. Only doctors and qualified dietitians plan diets to treat disease, and a certificate or skill diploma holder coaches healthy people and refers medical cases. IGMPI's syllabus includes hospital diets and medical nutrition therapy, and its prospectus names nutritionists, dietitians and diet technicians among possible roles. NNWA's course covers conditions too. Lessons on a disease are background for working beside medical care, whichever provider teaches them, and do not give permission to replace it.
If the dietitian title is your goal, read the rule at its source. Registered Dietitian is a credential of the Indian Dietetic Association, and its eligibility page asks for full-time graduation and a postgraduate course from UGC-recognised universities. No NNWA course counts towards it. Before paying IGMPI with that goal in mind, ask the Association directly whether the award you are considering would count. The dietitian route and an MSc against a PG diploma set out the alternatives.
Career support, as each provider words it
IGMPI's prospectus says it provides placement assistance after completion of its diplomas and professional certifications, through a placement cell of human resources professionals and partnerships with organisations, with help on resumes, interview skills and mock interviews. It also lists organisations whose working professionals have joined its programmes; read that list as who enrols, not as where learners were placed. The pages opened for this article give no placement figures, so ask for the last batch's numbers and how they were counted.
NNWA offers Diploma learners a job portal and career guidance, and guarantees no placement. Its pages publish no placement figures either, and none appear here. If placement help is why you are choosing, IGMPI states more on this point than NNWA does, and that is a fair reason to lean its way once you have seen what the help consists of. Put the same question to both: what exactly will you do for me in the month after I finish?
Refund terms and the questions left open
The IGMPI pages opened for this article, the prospectuses and the frequently asked questions included, state no refund terms, so ask for them in writing before paying. That is an absence on the pages read, not a statement that no policy exists. NNWA's refund policy says fees are generally not refundable once paid, with listed exceptions such as a duplicate charge or a batch that NNWA itself cancels. Treat a payment to either provider as a decision you will probably not be able to reverse.
What should you make of reviews of IGMPI and NNWA?
Treat a review as evidence about one learner's course, mode and year, and weigh it only after checking that it matches the course you would take. IGMPI's prospectus lists training in sectors from pharmaceuticals to cybersecurity, in both part-time online and regular modes, so look for a reviewer who studied nutrition in the mode you plan to use. NNWA chooses what appears on its own reviews page, and a comment there about one short course says little about the Diploma.
Placement is where a single story misleads most. One learner placed, or one who was not, does not show what a placement cell or a job portal does for a whole batch, so ask each provider the question in the career section above and count only the written reply. Set aside any praise or complaint about a certificate's standing, and check the named body yourself. For a longer method, covering the spread of ratings and what to ask a past learner, see how to judge course reviews.
NNWA under the same test, limits included
Run through the same questions, NNWA's answers are not all comfortable. None of its courses is a degree. It cannot lead you to Registered Dietitian eligibility, Indian Dietetic Association registration or a hospital dietitian post, and it gives no right to treat disease. It offers no classroom, no food laboratory and no regular mode, and a fixed live timetable shuts out anyone who cannot keep to it. It states less about career support than IGMPI's prospectus does. Those are real reasons to choose differently.
What NNWA can show is narrower and can be checked from outside: a named awarding university for four flagship programmes, a stated framework level for the Diploma, teaching in Hindi as well as English, and a certificate ID anyone can look up. Those are claims about structure, not about how any class will feel to you. No learner numbers, ratings or job figures appear on this page for either provider, because none could be confirmed.
The reader each provider suits
IGMPI suits a reader who is comfortable in English and wants a year or more of study, printed books and a stated placement process. It suits someone who wants the choice of a regular mode, who wants supplements and laboratory demonstration named on the syllabus, or whose interest may run on towards the food industry. It also suits a candidate who qualifies for one of the concessions the prospectus lists, and who has confirmed what the award means for their purpose.
NNWA suits a reader who wants a university-awarded skill qualification at a stated level, needs Hindi as well as English, or wants a six-month route from Class 12. It suits a learner who wants Indian food patterns and public health at the centre, and who can keep to a live timetable with recordings as a backstop. It suits less well someone who wants a classroom or laboratory, or who is choosing mainly for placement help.
Readers who should look elsewhere
Look elsewhere if you want hospital dietetics: that runs through a university BSc and MSc, and neither provider's diploma replaces them. Look elsewhere if you cannot attend any fixed class time, since both are built on live teaching. If low cost and a public university's name matter most, read IGNOU against NNWA first. And if you have not yet decided that this work suits you, do not begin with a course of a year or more from anyone.
A method that takes one evening and two emails
How to decide between NNWA and IGMPI
Find your row
Write down what you hold: Class 12, a degree, or a two to three year diploma. Compare only the courses open at that level.
Write down the job
One line on who you will work with and what you will do for them. Coaching healthy clients and hospital dietetics need different routes.
Send both the same questions
Ask for the total fee with tax, confirmed live hours, the language of teaching, who issues the certificate, and the refund terms.
Check the award at its source
Search the awarding body's own website rather than the seller's. Use the university's partner list for NNWA, and for IGMPI, the body it names in reply.
Ask about the month after
Ask each what career help consists of and how many learners from the last batch used it. Count nothing that is not in writing.
Put the timetable in your real week
Mark the classes you can keep for the full length of the course. Six months of weekends and twelve are different commitments.
What should you do next?
Send the questions above today and let the replies decide. If you want a named university award and live teaching in Hindi or English, read how admission works at NNWA and set the Certification or Diploma beside your goal. If IGMPI's reply satisfies you on the award and the fee, and a year of classes in English fits your life, apply there with the figure in writing. If you are still unsure, the side-by-side academy method will test a third option. Do not buy anything yet if your goal is a hospital post.
