NNWA publishes the name and qualifications of everyone who writes and checks its material. You can see the full teaching team on the faculty page.

Every INFS fact here was read on the Institute of Nutrition and Fitness Sciences' own pages on 1 November 2026 and is written as what those pages state. No reviews or forums were used, and nothing here judges how good either provider's teaching is. There is no overall winner. For the general test behind this page, see what to ask any online nutrition academy, and for INFS beside nine other providers, see the wider provider comparison.
How do the two flagship diplomas compare on paper?
They differ most on pace and subject mix, less on entry. Both ask for Class 12 in any stream, and both are written for beginners. INFS sells a self-paced diploma with a long window, built around nutrition, exercise and preventive health. NNWA runs a six-month live diploma around nutrition, dietetics and public health. The table sets the stated facts side by side, so check the INFS column against its live page before you pay, because any provider can change a figure.
| What you are checking | NNWA Diploma | INFS Diploma |
|---|---|---|
| Course name | Diploma in Nutrition, Dietetics and Public Health | Diploma in Nutrition, Exercise and Preventive Health |
| Length | 6 months, in a batch | 51 to 104 weeks in the header and FAQ, typically 24 to 48 weeks in the description, self-paced |
| Time limit | Ask admissions about completion limits | All assessments within 3 years of enrolling |
| Teaching | Live online classes in English and Hindi | Recorded lectures and reading, with live sessions and mentoring, in English |
| Result | Award with Medhavi Skills University at NCrF and NSQF Level 4 | Certified Nutrition Fitness Coach certification, 62 credits or 18.6 CEU |
| Entry rule | Class 12 in any stream | Class 12 in any stream, age 18 or over |
| Fee | Printed live on the course cards in this article | Rs 61,999 including tax |
| After you pay | Generally non-refundable, with listed exceptions | Non-refundable and non-transferable |
INFS prints its fee on the course page, which makes it easy to compare, and NNWA does the same on its course cards. For a fair sum, divide each total by the hours of teaching you will really receive rather than by the months on the label. Comparing fees by cost per hour shows the working. INFS's FAQ adds that EMI is available through select banks and card types, and that a failed exam can be retaken for a re-test fee of Rs 350.
Which study pattern are you likely to finish?
If you have finished a long course alone before, self-pacing is a real freedom; if you have not, a fixed batch may serve you better. INFS's FAQ calls its diploma completely self-paced and online, with animated videos, recorded lectures, reading, quizzes and a discussion forum where doubts are answered within 2 to 3 working days. Its course page also lists live lectures and, after you clear the basic exam, batches mentored by a faculty guide. Ask INFS how many live hours you can count on, since its FAQ says not all live lectures are recorded.
NNWA's classes run live at set times in English and Hindi, with recordings and mentor support. That structure helps people who drift without a deadline, and it does not help anyone whose shifts move every week. The trade is plain: INFS gives you control and asks for self-discipline, while NNWA gives you a timetable and asks for your evenings. What happens when you miss live classes is worth reading if you are unsure which of these you can sustain.
Do you want exercise science in the same course?
If you plan to coach clients on both food and training, INFS's single diploma is the closer fit, and this is a real point in its favour. Its page lists resistance training, cardio, exercise programming, anatomy, biomarkers such as blood sugar and lipid profiles, wearable data, diet psychology and business ethics. NNWA's Diploma stresses dietetics and public health and carries no exercise subject in its title. At NNWA, training content sits in a separate course, the Advanced Diploma in Personal Training with Sports Nutrition.
If your interest is community nutrition, public health or counselling around Indian diets, the balance moves the other way. NNWA's Diploma is built around Indian dietary patterns and the ICMR-NIN Dietary Guidelines for Indians, and its second half covers applied physiology, therapeutic diet design, diet charts and counselling. To settle it properly, lay both module lists next to each other as the syllabus comparison method describes, and mark the lines that match your planned work.
The certificate, and who stands behind it
On completing the INFS diploma you receive the Certified Nutrition Fitness Coach certification, downloadable from your dashboard, and its FAQ says hard copies are not sent. The course page names no outside awarding body. The INFS home page shows DIPP, NSDC, ACE and ISO logos under an accreditations heading, so ask which of those applies to this course and what each one covers. Assessment is proctored online and closed-book, using multiple-choice tests, a viva and a client transformation project.
NNWA's Diploma is awarded with Medhavi Skills University, Sikkim, a university recognised under section 2(f) of the UGC Act and an NCVET-approved awarding body, at NCrF and NSQF Level 4. You can search the university's partner directory for National Nutrition and Wellness Academy. That award covers only four flagship programmes. The Diploma in Health and Wellness Coaching and about seventy short courses carry NNWA's own certificate, so do not assume a short course from NNWA has any university behind it.
The shorter tiers and the Hindi option
INFS's lower-priced Professional Diploma is listed at Rs 31,999 for 16 to 30 weeks, with pre-recorded lectures, multiple-choice exams to be completed within 2 years, and 22 credits or 6 CEU. Its page describes it as a streamlined, foundational version of the main diploma and says its scholars cannot be onboarded as FITTR coaches. Its Certified Nutritionist course is listed at Rs 19,999 for 15 to 18 weeks. A separate Hindi-language diploma is listed at Rs 49,999 with 40 credits or 13.5 CEU, and the page shows no duration.
NNWA's Certification in Nutrition runs 3 months as a live course and carries the university award, and its eligibility page prints no separate entry rule, so ask admissions. Hindi is handled differently too: NNWA's live classes run in English and Hindi, rather than as a separate Hindi course. A graduate who wants a longer route can look at the one-year Post Graduation Diploma. Pick the tier by the work you plan to do, not by the title on the certificate.
Are the refund terms any different?
Not by much, so treat either purchase as final. INFS's course page says the fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, and its FAQ says INFS offers no refunds once you have joined a course. NNWA's refund policy says fees are generally non-refundable, listing a booking amount and each instalment once paid, and the balance from the access date or batch start, whichever is earlier. It lists narrow exceptions such as a duplicate charge. Read both in full; the refund checklist shows what to look for.
NNWA under the same test, limits included
The same questions asked of NNWA turn up real limits. It is a private skill academy, and none of its courses is a degree. Its courses bring no Registered Dietitian eligibility, no Indian Dietetic Association registration, no hospital dietitian post and no right to treat disease. It offers no job guarantee, and INFS's FAQ likewise says it does not offer direct placement assistance. If you cannot keep to live class times, NNWA is the wrong choice and a self-paced course will serve you better.
Only doctors and qualified dietitians plan diets to treat disease, and that line applies to both diplomas here. Lessons on blood reports or lifestyle conditions prepare you to coach healthy people and to refer medical cases, not to manage them. The Registered Dietitian credential belongs to the Indian Dietetic Association and starts from university study, as the route to becoming a dietitian explains. Neither course shortens that route.
The reader each course suits
INFS suits someone who studies well alone, wants food and training covered together, plans to coach clients on both, and values setting the pace around a job or a family. It suits a reader who would rather clear a proctored exam and a viva on their own schedule than attend class. It also suits anyone who needs a lower-cost recorded tier first, given the shorter tiers it lists.
NNWA suits someone who needs a timetable and a teacher to keep going, prefers learning in Hindi or moving between Hindi and English, or wants a qualification with a university award and a stated level for a CV or an employer who asks. It also suits a reader drawn to public health or community nutrition. It suits less well a person who wants training science in the same course, or whose week has no fixed free hours.
If you were searching for an alternative to INFS, look elsewhere too
NNWA is not the only alternative, and for some readers it is not the right one. If you want another live academy, compare INFS with NFNA. If a recognised international name matters for fitness work, foreign and Indian certifications compared covers that decision. If you want hospital dietetics, look elsewhere altogether: a university BSc and MSc is the route, and neither provider here offers it. And if cost is the only barrier, an IGNOU programme deserves a look before you pay any private academy.

A method for the decision
How to decide between NNWA and INFS
Audit your last long commitment
Think of the last course or goal you pursued for six months or more. Note honestly whether a deadline or your own drive carried you through it.
Name the work
Write who you will help and with what: food only, food and training, or community and public health. That line picks the subject mix.
Block out a real week
Mark the hours you can truly protect, at fixed times or in loose pockets. Ask NNWA for the class timings, and ask INFS how many live hours to expect.
Ask both the same written questions
Total fee with tax, who stands behind the result, how long it stays valid, and what the refund terms are.
Check the answers at the source
Confirm any accreditation or award with the body itself, on its own website, and read a sample of each module list.
What should you do next?
Finish the method above, then act on it. If your answer is self-pacing with training science, go to INFS with its figures in hand and read the assessment rules first. If your answer is a live batch and a university award, read how admission works at NNWA and the course page below. Either way, get the total fee in writing, because a counsellor's spoken figure is not the one you can hold anyone to later.
Do not buy either yet if you cannot name the work you will do, or if your goal is a hospital post. For the first, a low-cost short course or a free one will tell you whether the subject holds your interest. For the second, read about an MSc against a PG Diploma and start from a degree. Waiting a month to decide costs nothing, whereas a non-refundable fee paid in haste costs the whole amount.
