Placement & Career Support
NNWA supports graduates with career guidance, CV and interview preparation, job leads and help setting up their own practice. Diploma learners also get access to a job portal. Support is genuine and practical, but NNWA does not guarantee a job, a placement or any level of income.
What Placement & Career Support involves
Last reviewed on 2 September 2026.
NNWA publishes the name and qualifications of everyone who writes and checks its material. You can see the full teaching team on the faculty page.

Career support at NNWA is real. It is also smaller than the word "placement" usually suggests. It is help, not a result. This page sets out what the help covers, what it cannot cover, and the part of the work that stays with you.
Should you trust a course that promises a job?
No, and the reason is simple. No private course provider in India controls whether a clinic, a gym, a food brand or a hospital hires you, so a placement guarantee is a promise about someone else's decision. If a provider offers assured placement, ask for the terms in writing, ask what counts as a placement, and ask what happens if none appears. The answers tend to shrink very fast. Our article on how to spot a fake nutrition course covers the other warning signs worth knowing before you pay anyone.
What career support here covers
- Career guidance, so you can work out which direction actually fits your background.
- Help with your CV and preparation for interviews.
- Job leads, passed on as they come up.
- Practical help if you want to set up your own practice rather than look for a salaried role.
- Access to a job portal for Diploma learners.
That is the honest size of it. None of those items is a promise of work, and no one at NNWA will tell you otherwise.
The part that is yours
A qualification opens a conversation. It does not finish one. The people who do well after a course are usually the ones who started acting like practitioners before anyone paid them.
- Build a portfolio of case work. Start with people who will let you practise: family, friends, colleagues, a local group. Take a proper diet history. Write a plan. Follow up. Record what happened, with permission and without names.
- Get fluent in the ordinary parts of the job. Explaining a change in plain language matters more than knowing a rare deficiency.
- Pick a group of people you want to work with. Practitioners who help everybody are hard to refer.
- Learn to say what you are not. Being clear about your limits builds more trust than claiming everything.
What does a portfolio of case work look like?
It is a small, plain record of real work: who the person was in general terms, what they came with, what you suggested, what changed over a few weeks, and what you would do differently. Ten of those are worth more in an interview than any certificate, because they show judgement rather than attendance. Keep them anonymous, keep them factual, and never write down an outcome that did not happen.
Employment and independent practice are different routes
Nutrition work in India splits roughly two ways, and they suit different people. Salaried roles sit inside gyms, wellness studios, corporate wellness teams, food and supplement companies, health content teams and some hospital support functions. Independent practice means finding your own clients, setting your own fees and carrying the admin yourself. Independent work can start smaller and grow slower, but it does not wait for anyone to hire you. Our guide to building a nutrition practice in India covers the second route in detail, and working from home as a nutrition practitioner covers the shape of an online setup.
What does this qualification not open?
It is a skill qualification, so several doors stay shut, and you should know which ones before you enrol rather than after. It is not a degree. It does not award a BSc or an MSc. It does not confer Registered Dietitian status, which in India needs a BSc or MSc in the subject plus registration through the Indian Dietetic Association's own route. It does not qualify anyone to deliver clinical medical nutrition therapy or to treat disease. NNWA makes no claim about eligibility for government posts, which set their own requirements.
Where to look next
If you are still working out what the field holds, read nutrition career options and what you can do with a nutrition certificate in India. If your question is whether a certification helps you get hired at all, we answer it directly in do nutrition certifications help you get hired. The case studies section walks through how nutrition work fits alongside different professions, which is often the fastest way to see where you would fit.
For the programme itself, the Diploma in Nutrition, Dietetics and Public Health page sets out the structure and the fee, and the affiliation page shows exactly what the certificate is and how to check it yourself.
