NNWA publishes the name and qualifications of everyone who writes and checks its material. You can see the full teaching team on the faculty page.

Two things are left to other pages on purpose. Which degree your stream can enter at all is set out in nutrition courses after 12th, stream by stream, and the wider timetable for every kind of course, test or no test, is in the 2027 nutrition admissions calendar. What follows is only the entrance test: its papers, the combinations two large universities published for 2026, and the weeks between a score and a seat.
What is announced for CUET 2027 so far?
Nothing yet. As of 8 October 2026 the National Testing Agency's CUET (UG) site carries no notice, information bulletin, syllabus or date for 2027, and its newest public notices are the result and topper lists of the 2026 test. The agency's examination calendar published in September 2026 runs only to March 2027: it proposes CUET (PG) for March 2027, marked tentative, and has no CUET (UG) entry at all. Any 2027 date for the undergraduate test that you see quoted today is therefore a forecast, not an announcement.
The last published cycle is the best guide to the shape of the year. For 2026 the agency's bulletin opened the online form on 3 January 2026 with a closing date of 30 January, and a public notice dated 30 January 2026 moved that to 4 February. Papers were first listed for 11 to 31 May 2026, and the result press release records that they were held on those dates and again on 6 and 7 June 2026 for rescheduled candidates. Scores came out on 23 June 2026. The page to watch is the public notice list on the CUET (UG) site.

The test itself: papers, marks and choices
The 2026 bulletin lists 37 papers: 13 languages, 23 domain subjects and one General Aptitude Test. A candidate may choose up to five of them, languages and the aptitude test included, whatever subjects were taken in Class 12. Every paper has 50 questions, all compulsory, answered in 60 minutes on a computer. A correct answer earns 5 marks and a wrong one loses 1. Question papers were offered in 13 languages, and domain papers follow the NCERT syllabus.
The agency sets no age limit. Its 2026 eligibility rule admits anyone who has passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination, or is appearing for it that year, and adds that the age rules of the university you apply to still bind you. The fee depends on how many papers you take: in 2026 a General category candidate paid Rs 1,000 for up to three papers and Rs 400 for each extra one, with lower amounts for other categories. Because scores from different shifts are not directly comparable, the bulletin explains that they are normalised paper by paper before the scorecard is issued.
How is the Home Science paper set?
Home Science is domain paper 315, one of the 23 domain subjects, and the agency's 2026 syllabus for it has six units. They are work, livelihood and career; nutrition, food science and technology; human development and family studies; fabric and apparel; resource management; and communication and extension. Like every domain paper it has 50 compulsory questions in one hour and follows the NCERT syllabus, so the Class 12 Home Science textbook is the place to revise from.
The nutrition unit is narrower than its title suggests. The syllabus names four topics under it: clinical nutrition and dietetics, public nutrition and health, food processing and technology, and food quality and food safety. The other five units cover early childhood care, the care and design of fabrics, hospitality management, consumer education, and development communication. A student who likes only the food chapters should know that they are one unit in six, and that the degree, like the paper, spreads across all of them.
Which CUET subjects does the University of Delhi ask for?
For BSc (Hons.) Home Science, the University of Delhi's 2026-27 bulletin asks for one of two combinations: Biology (or Biological Studies, Biotechnology or Biochemistry) with Physics and any one subject from its List B, or the same Biology paper with Chemistry and any one List B subject. Merit is drawn from the best score across those combinations, and the candidate must also sit one language from List A. Home Science is on List B, so it can be the third paper, but so can 21 other domain subjects.
The same bulletin treats BSc (Pass) Home Science quite differently. It accepts one language with any three List B subjects, two languages with any two List B subjects, or one language with one List B subject and the General Aptitude Test. No science paper is named, which makes it the Delhi programme to read first if you did not study biology. BSc (Hons.) Food Technology is the strictest of the three: Physics and Chemistry with either Biology or Mathematics, and one language.
One Delhi rule catches students every year. The bulletin makes it mandatory to appear in CUET in the subjects you are taking or have passed in Class 12, and where a school subject has no paper of the same name, in the closest one, with the university deciding what counts as similar. So the papers on your form have to match your school subjects as well as the programme's combination. Choosing a paper you never studied because a coaching list suggested it can leave a good score unusable at Delhi.
| Programme | University | CUET papers required |
|---|---|---|
| BSc (Hons.) Home Science | University of Delhi | Biology, Physics or Chemistry, one List B subject, one language |
| BSc (Pass) Home Science | University of Delhi | One language and three List B subjects, or two other listed combinations |
| BSc (Hons.) Food Technology | University of Delhi | Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics, one language |
| BSc (Hons.) for the biology group, Home Science included | Banaras Hindu University | Biology, Chemistry, Physics |
| BA (Hons.) in the Faculty of Arts, Home Science included | Banaras Hindu University | English or Hindi, General Aptitude Test |
| BTech in Food Technology | Banaras Hindu University | Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics |
Banaras Hindu University: two doors into Home Science
Banaras Hindu University's notice of 27 June 2026 for the 2026-27 session lists Home Science twice. It appears among the BSc (Hons.) subjects for biology-stream students, beside Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Geography and Geology, with Biology, Chemistry and Physics as the required papers. It also appears among the BA (Hons.) subjects of the Faculty of Arts, where the required papers are English or Hindi and the General Aptitude Test. The same notice lists a BTech in Food Technology and a vocational degree in Food Processing and Management, each with its own science combinations.
Set the two universities side by side and the practical lesson is plain. A candidate who sits Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English or Hindi and the General Aptitude Test uses all five choices and stays eligible for the honours Home Science degree at Delhi and both doors at Banaras, provided those papers match the Class 12 subjects. Swap one science paper for Home Science and Delhi's honours degree stays open, since Home Science is a List B subject, but the Banaras BSc group closes. What the degree then teaches, year by year, is covered in the BSc nutrition and dietetics guide.
How are seats allotted after the result?
Each university allots its own seats, and the testing agency plays no part in it. The 2026 bulletin confines the agency's role to registration, conducting the test, answer keys, results and the scorecard, and says that merit lists and counselling belong to the participating universities. It also warns that appearing in the test gives no right to admission. In practice a second application follows the first: you apply to the test in winter, then to each university's own admission portal in summer, and at Delhi that second registration carries its own fee.
From score to seat at the University of Delhi, as it ran in 2026
Register with the university
Phase I of the Common Seat Allocation System opened on 26 June 2026 and closed on 11 July 2026. The university treats Phase I as complete only once the registration fee is paid.
Map subjects and fill preferences
Phase II ran from 3 July to 11 July 2026. You map Class 12 subjects to CUET papers, then rank as many programme and college combinations as you are eligible for.
Check the simulated rank
Simulated ranks were shown on 12 July 2026, with a one-day window to reorder preferences before they locked.
Accept the allocated seat
The first allocation list came out on 16 July 2026. Candidates had until 18 July to accept and until 21 July to pay the fee online.
Upgrade or freeze
After paying, a candidate chooses to freeze the seat or stay in line for a higher preference. The second list followed on 25 July 2026, and later rounds ran into August.
Other universities run shorter versions of the same idea on their own sites. Banaras Hindu University's June 2026 notice said its undergraduate registration portal was expected to open in the first week of July 2026, after scores were out. None of these university dates has been published for 2027 either. They are fixed only after the result, so the pages to watch next summer are the University of Delhi's undergraduate admissions page and the notices of Banaras Hindu University's Central Admission Committee.
A preparation calendar from October 2026
With no 2027 notice out, the sensible plan assumes the 2026 pattern and stays ready to move. In 2026 the form was open for about a month from early January, so the choice of papers has to be settled before the board practicals begin. Use the weeks before then to read the latest bulletins of the universities you want, since the 2027 editions may change a combination. If the months differ in 2027, the agency's notice will say so, and nothing in this list is wasted.
Does a CUET score lead to becoming a dietitian?
Only as the first of several steps. A CUET score gets you into a bachelor's degree and nothing more. The Registered Dietitian credential is awarded by the Indian Dietetic Association, and it rests on postgraduate study in the field, a hospital internship and the association's own examination, all of which come years after the entrance test. If hospital dietetics is the aim, choose the bachelor's degree with the later steps in mind: the comparison of dietitian courses and what each one leads to and the step-by-step account of how to become a dietitian in India set those out.
The student the CUET route suits
The test suits a student who wants a full-time bachelor's degree at a central university and whose Class 12 subjects line up with the papers that degree asks for. It suits science students with biology best, because both honours routes described above start from a Biology paper. It also suits a family willing to wait: the form goes in during winter, the papers fall in early summer, and in 2026 the first Delhi allocation list did not appear until the middle of July. A student who is comfortable with that timetable, and with moving city, reaches several public universities through one test.
Students who should look elsewhere
Look elsewhere if the college you want does not use the test. Plenty of state universities and colleges run their own admission, and a CUET score means nothing to them, so read the college's own notice first. Look elsewhere, too, if you want to study from home at your own pace: the open university route is set out, with its dates, in the guide to IGNOU's nutrition programmes for 2027. And if your goal is coaching healthy adults, not a degree, a skill qualification answers a different need with no test at all.
NNWA measured against the same questions
Ask of NNWA what this page asks of a university: which entry rule, which award, which limit. NNWA is a private skill academy teaching online in English and Hindi, with live classes. Its Diploma in Nutrition, Dietetics and Public Health asks for Class 12 in any stream and sets no entrance paper; the entry rules for each programme are on the eligibility page. The Diploma is awarded with Medhavi Skills University, Sikkim, as a 600-hour qualification at NCrF and NSQF Level 4. It is not a degree, it does not count towards the Registered Dietitian credential, and it prepares people to coach healthy clients, not to treat disease.
For a CUET candidate the honest use of a skill course is as an addition. It can fill the months between the last board paper and the first semester, or run beside the degree for consultation practice. It cannot replace the BSc if hospital work is the goal. Batches start through the year, and the admissions page shows the current one.
