NNWA publishes the name and qualifications of everyone who writes and checks its material. You can see the full teaching team on the faculty page.

What this page says about NFNA was read on the National Fitness and Nutrition Academy's own pages on 1 November 2026 and is written as what those pages state. The wider test behind it is in the guide to choosing an online nutrition academy, and the side-by-side academy method works for any other pair you are weighing.
Why does this page recommend NNWA?
Two live academies can look alike on paper, so the points that separate them matter. NNWA's Diploma is awarded with Medhavi Skills University, Sikkim, which is recognised under section 2(f) of the UGC Act and is an NCVET-approved awarding body, at a stated framework level. Classes run in English and Hindi, and recordings and notes stay open for life rather than for a year. 24x7 mentor and doubt support and books and study material come with it, and a research and development team keeps the curriculum current. Graduates also have a one-year Post Graduation Diploma to move to. Over 1,000 learners have studied with NNWA, career help covers placement support, job leads and a job portal for diploma learners. Interest-free EMI and a zero-interest education loan spread the fee.
NFNA in brief
The National Fitness and Nutrition Academy teaches a six-month Diploma in Applied Nutrition, Food Science and Dietetics in live online classes with doubt-solving, and a shorter certification. Its page lists client case work, a learning kit with a colour textbook, and brand-building and digital presence as taught topics, which suits a reader who wants client-building inside the course.
What do NNWA and NFNA each state about their six-month diplomas?
On paper the two look alike: six months, taught live online, starting from the basics. They part on who awards the result, how long recordings stay open and what the page says about entry. The table uses each provider's diploma because that is the course most readers are choosing between.
| What you are checking | NNWA Diploma | NFNA Diploma |
|---|---|---|
| Course name | Diploma in Nutrition, Dietetics and Public Health | Diploma in Applied Nutrition, Food Science and Dietetics |
| Length | 6 months | 6 months |
| Hours stated | A 600-hour qualification | 120+ hours of live classes and assignments on the course page |
| Teaching | Live online classes in English and Hindi | Live online classes and doubt-solving sessions, no language named |
| Recordings | Lifetime access | One-year access |
| Award | With Medhavi Skills University, at NCrF and NSQF Level 4 | 10 certificates, including what the page calls an NSDC-graded Skill India certificate |
| Entry rule | Class 12 in any stream | An eligibility heading with no rule printed under it |
The hours row measures different things: NNWA's 600 hours is the stated size of the qualification, while NFNA's figure is live classes and assignments. Ask each provider how many hours of live teaching you will attend and how much marked work you will submit. Questions for a course counsellor lists others worth asking.
Who stands behind the certificate on each route?
NNWA's Diploma is awarded with Medhavi Skills University, Sikkim, a university recognised under section 2(f) of the UGC Act and an NCVET-approved awarding body, and it sits at NCrF and NSQF Level 4. NFNA's diploma page promises 10 certificates, including what it calls an NSDC-graded Skill India certificate, and further down the same page says 8. That page names no awarding university and states no framework level, and the home page shows logos including NSDC, MSME and ISO under an affiliations heading. Ask NFNA which body issues each paper, then confirm the answer with that body.
Run the same check on NNWA. The university's partner directory can be searched for the full legal name, National Nutrition and Wellness Academy, and NNWA's page of independent checks shows how. The award covers four flagship programmes only: the Certification, the Diploma, the Post Graduation Diploma and the Advanced Diploma in Personal Training with Sports Nutrition. The Diploma in Health and Wellness Coaching and about seventy short courses carry NNWA's own certificate alone, and the university award does not reach them.
Live classes, recordings and support, as each page describes them
Both providers teach live online, so this choice does not turn on mode. NFNA's diploma page lists live classes with doubt-solving in every class, one year of access to recordings, lifetime academic support and a study app for Android and iOS. NNWA states live classes in English and Hindi, recordings with lifetime access and mentor support. NFNA's pages name no language of teaching, so a reader who needs Hindi should ask. Live teaching costs the same on both sides: fixed timings, and a plan for the classes you will miss.
The syllabus, read for what each one stresses
NFNA's page describes a path from nutrients, digestion, food labels, hormones, hydration and supplements through to diet plans for clients, with vegan and ketogenic diets, digestive disorders and research skills on the way. It goes on to diabetes, PCOS, thyroid disorders and cardiovascular disease, and it names brand-building and digital presence as taught topics. It also lists a learning kit delivered to your address, with a colour textbook. A reader who wants client-building inside the diploma will find that stated plainly.
NNWA's Diploma is built around Indian dietary patterns and the ICMR-NIN Dietary Guidelines for Indians, with public health in its title. Its second half covers applied physiology, therapeutic diet design, diet charts and counselling, and learners finish with a diet-chart portfolio. NNWA's blog describes client-building as a separate short course, Personal Branding for Wellness, so ask whether the Diploma covers what you need on that side. Comparing two syllabi line by line is the fairest way to settle this, using both module lists.
Does either course let you plan diets for patients?
No, not on the strength of the certificate. Only doctors and qualified dietitians plan diets to treat disease. A certificate or skill diploma holder coaches healthy people and refers medical cases, so condition-based lessons on either syllabus are background for working alongside medical care, not permission to replace it. Registered Dietitian is a credential of the Indian Dietetic Association, whose eligibility rules ask for graduation and a postgraduate course from UGC-recognised universities. The dietitian route sets out the steps, and neither course counts as a stage on it.
The shorter courses and what sits above them
If six months is too much, both providers have a shorter step. NFNA's Certification in Applied Nutrition lists 3 months and 40+ hours of live classes on its own page, 50+ hours on the home page card, with an NSDC-graded Skill India certificate and soft-copy study material. NNWA's Certification in Nutrition also runs 3 months and carries the university award. NNWA's eligibility page prints no separate entry rule for it, so ask admissions to confirm one in writing. Above the diploma, NNWA has a one-year Post Graduation Diploma for graduates, while NFNA's course menu lists no course at that level.
Refund and cancellation terms, side by side
Read these before paying, because neither provider offers an easy exit. NFNA's refund policy says no refund is offered after payment, and that cancelling by email ends the enrolment within 7 days with no money returned. NNWA's refund policy says fees are generally non-refundable: a booking amount and each instalment once paid, and the balance from the access date or batch start, whichever is earlier, subject to a short list of exceptions such as a duplicate charge. Treat the two as close on this point, and treat your decision as final once you pay.
How much should reviews decide between NNWA and NFNA?
Less than the written answers you get from each provider, because a review describes one person's experience and both providers show theirs on pages they control. A count or a selected comment cannot tell you where it was collected or whether the writer finished the course.
Use reviews for what they do well, which is finding questions. If several writers raise the same issue, such as the pace of a class, doubt-solving or how a first client went, add it to the list you send both providers. Prefer a reviewer who names the exact course and says what they did afterwards, and try to speak to one past learner from each side. Then check the certificate and the refund terms at source, since no review changes either. How to judge course reviews sets out where ratings come from and how each source leans.
The reader each route suits
NFNA suits a reader who wants live classes with client case work and doubt-solving, likes having client-building and digital presence inside the diploma, wants a printed textbook sent to the door, and is content with a one-year window on recordings. It also suits someone who has asked NFNA which body issues each certificate and is satisfied with the answer for their purpose, such as coaching private clients or adding nutrition to existing fitness work.
NNWA suits a reader who wants a university-awarded skill qualification with a stated level, needs teaching in Hindi as well as English, or wants a public health strand alongside nutrition. It suits a graduate who wants the one-year route too, since that is on offer here, and anyone who wants to return to recordings and notes for life.
A method you can finish in one evening
How to decide between NNWA and NFNA
Write down the job
One line: who you will work with and what you will do for them. Coaching healthy clients, adding nutrition to yoga or gym work and hospital dietetics need different routes.
Send both providers the same questions
Ask in writing for the total fee with tax, confirmed live hours, the language of teaching, who issues each certificate, and the refund terms.
Check each certificate at its source
Search the awarding body's own website rather than the seller's. Use the university's partner directory for NNWA, and for NFNA, the body it names when you ask.
Read both module lists side by side
Mark what you need for the job you wrote down. Ignore anything that only sounds impressive.
Ask each for a sample class
Watch how a doubt gets answered and whether you can follow the language and pace for an hour.
Put the timetable in your real week
Choose the class times you can actually keep for months. A course you cannot attend is the expensive one, whatever its fee.
What should you do next?
If you want a stated university award and live teaching in Hindi or English, read how admission works at NNWA and the course page, and send admissions any question from the method above. If you want client-building built into one course, ask NFNA about the certificate, the fee and the timetable in writing.
If your real goal is a hospital post, read about the degree route first. If you are still testing your interest, free and paid courses compared shows a low-cost way to start, and NNWA's three-month Certification is a shorter step. Graduates weighing a longer course can look at NNWA's one-year route below.
