NNWA publishes the name and qualifications of everyone who writes and checks its material. You can see the full teaching team on the faculty page.

Every fact about Medvarsity below comes from its own course pages, read on 1 November 2026, and is written as what those pages state. This article makes no claim about Medvarsity's teaching, reviews or results, because a competitor is the wrong source for those. The wider checklist for judging any provider is in how to weigh an online nutrition academy, and the broader field of dietetics training is on the diet science academy comparison.
The two options, fact by fact
NNWA has two courses that a Medvarsity shopper tends to compare, so both appear here. The Medvarsity column is its fellowship, the last of three linked courses. Read the rows on entry and hospital time first, because those two usually settle the matter before fees come into it.

Who can enrol in Medvarsity's fellowship?
Healthcare professionals, on Medvarsity's wording, and only after two earlier courses. Its eligibility list names Ayush practitioners, dietitians, nutritionists, MBBS, MD/MS/DNB, BDS, MDS and nursing, and its FAQ adds BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS and BNYS graduates and other healthcare professionals. The same FAQ says completing Medvarsity's Certificate and Advanced Certificate courses is mandatory before you enrol in the fellowship.
That ladder changes the sum. The Certificate in Basic Nutrition page lists 3 months and Rs 17,745, the Advanced Certificate page lists 6 months and Rs 35,000, and the fellowship page lists 9 months and Rs 67,645. Both earlier pages also showed a lower price with a checkout code. Charged separately, the listed figures add up to Rs 1,20,390, but Medvarsity's pages state no total, and they do not say whether the 9 months follow the earlier courses or include them. Ask for both answers in writing.
What does a month in a hospital add?
It adds what no online class can supply: real patients being managed with professionals beside you. Medvarsity's page describes a one-month observership at a multispecialty hospital, under supervision, where participants observe and take part in nutritional management, and it lists observation evaluations among the assessments. NNWA has no equivalent. It offers no supervised hospital placement, and its practical work is done at home and reviewed remotely. If this month is what you are paying for, Medvarsity has it and NNWA does not.
Two questions are still worth asking. The pages do not name the hospital or the city, so ask where you would be placed and who pays for travel and a stay. And one month of observership is a different thing from the six-month internship the Indian Dietetic Association asks for, so do not count it towards that. How the two kinds of training differ is set out in how to choose between a clinical nutrition and a dietetics course.
NNWA under the same test
NNWA is a private skill academy in Kolkata that teaches online, in English and Hindi, with live classes. Its Post Graduation Diploma takes a degree in any discipline and runs for a year. It is awarded with Medhavi Skills University, Sikkim, a university recognised under section 2(f) of the UGC Act and an NCVET-approved awarding body. A certificate can be tested on NNWA's verification page instead of being taken on trust.
The limits are plain. The Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics course carries NNWA's own certificate only, and the university award does not cover it. None of NNWA's programmes is a degree, and none gives Registered Dietitian eligibility, Indian Dietetic Association registration, a hospital dietitian post or the right to treat disease. There is no observership. NNWA sets out its own standing on is NNWA legit, which is the page to read with the same suspicion you bring to this one.
Does either option lead to Registered Dietitian status?
No. The Registered Dietitian title is the Indian Dietetic Association's own credential and no government licence. The association's eligibility page limits the exam to people who attended full-time graduation and a postgraduate course at UGC-recognised universities, and asks for six months of continuous internship in a hospital recognised for RD training. No NNWA course meets that, and Medvarsity's fellowship page does not claim that its certificate does.
So a dietitian who already holds the degrees may treat the fellowship as continuing education, while someone without them should not read it as a shortcut. The full requirement is in how to become a dietitian in India. If you hold a first degree and are weighing a university route against a skill qualification, how to choose between an MSc in nutrition and a PG diploma deals with that decision.
How do the two published syllabi differ?
Medvarsity's is organised by disease system and NNWA's by what the practitioner does. The fellowship page lists eleven modules: respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, hepatic and gallbladder, renal, diabetes, cancer, acute and chronic conditions, trauma and surgery, burns, and food allergy, followed by a final assessment. Trauma, surgery and burns are subjects a reader meets on a ward, which fits the audience it names. The page does not mention live classes or Hindi, so ask how the online part is taught if either matters to you.
NNWA's clinical course teaches assessment in illness, therapeutic diet principles, report reading and case discussion, and it is built for work alongside medical care, not in place of it. To set the two lists beside each other topic by topic, use how to compare two nutrition course syllabi, and judge each list against the clients you expect to see.
The reader each option suits
Medvarsity's fellowship suits a working healthcare professional who is on its eligibility list, can give a month to a hospital, and values a CPD certificate alongside the fellowship. A physician or Ayush practitioner adding nutrition to an existing practice is the reader its page describes. For that person NNWA is the weaker fit on the single point of hospital exposure, and this page says so.
NNWA's route suits a graduate in any subject who wants a long live programme, including a working professional changing field, and a nurse, physiotherapist or trainer who prefers to learn in scheduled classes in English or Hindi. The short clinical course suits someone with a nutrition base who wants to go further into illness without committing to a year. In both cases the work afterwards is beside a doctor or dietitian, not in place of one.
Readers who should look elsewhere
Look elsewhere from both if you want to plan hospital patients' diets and hold no relevant degree. The route then is a university degree, a postgraduate qualification and the internship, and paying for either course first would delay it. Look elsewhere from Medvarsity if your qualification is not on its list and it will not confirm otherwise in writing. Look elsewhere from NNWA if you cannot attend scheduled classes, or if hospital time is the reason you are buying.
A reader still unsure which kind of provider they need should step back from this pair. How to compare nutrition academies side by side widens the field, and if your comparison has moved on to the other name in the same search, Medvarsity against GIHS runs the same checks on those two.
Decide between them in one evening
Name the work
Write one sentence on who you will work with in an ordinary week. If it says patients whose diet is treating a disease and you hold no such scope today, stop and read the degree route.
Check the list
Set your qualification against Medvarsity's eligibility list. If it is not named, ask Medvarsity before you plan anything around the fellowship.
Price the whole path
Add the three Medvarsity courses and the cost of travel for the hospital month. Take NNWA's fee from the course card and add nothing you have not been told about in writing.
Test your calendar
Mark nine months or more against your work roster for one option, and fixed live class times for the other. See which one you could still keep up in a bad month.
Send the same questions
Put the checklist below to both providers by email, so the answers can be compared and kept.
Choose on the replies
Pick the option that admits you and gives the thing you named in the first step. If neither does, buy neither.
Questions first, then your next move
If you are a clinician on Medvarsity's list and the hospital month is the attraction, start by asking Medvarsity the fee and timing questions for the whole ladder. If you are a graduate outside that list, read the NNWA course pages, then speak to NNWA's admissions team and ask for the same answers. If you have passed Class 12 but hold no degree, the Post Graduation Diploma is closed to you, and the Diploma, which takes Class 12 in any stream, is the NNWA starting point.
Do not buy anything yet if you cannot finish the sentence in the first step, or if your real goal is a hospital dietitian post. Then the useful spend this month is time spent reading admission rules for degrees. Compare fees only once the route is settled, using how to compare nutrition course fees, because a low price on the wrong route is still money lost.
