What is the NCrF?

The National Skills Qualification Framework (NCrF) is a Government of India framework that organises skill-based qualifications into levels, based on what a learner knows and can do. It's designed to give vocational and skill training clear structure and recognition, so a certificate means something consistent across the country.

What does 'Level-4' mean?

NCrF levels run from 1 upward, with each level reflecting greater knowledge, responsibility and practical competence. Level-4 represents a solid, job-relevant level of skill — the holder can carry out well-defined work, apply a good range of knowledge, and take responsibility for their own output. For a skill-based field like applied nutrition, it's a meaningful, practical benchmark.

Who issues NCrF-aligned certificates?

NCrF-aligned skill certificates are issued by recognised awarding bodies approved by NCVET — the National Council for Vocational Education and Training. a recognised Skill University is a UGC-recognised Skill University and an NCVET-approved Awarding Body, which is why it can issue NCrF-aligned credentials.

Why it matters for nutrition learners

  • It adds credible, Government-framework recognition to your skill
  • It signals to clients and employers that your training is structured and benchmarked
  • It complements — rather than replaces — practical, hands-on ability
  • It strengthens your profile as you build a wellness or consulting practice
